Beard Line Up.
What is a beard line up?
A beard line up is a shaping service that defines the edges of a beard without cutting the hair on your head. At Adrian’s Barbershop in Goodyear, Arizona it costs $25, runs 30 minutes, and covers the cheek line, the neckline, the mustache, and the transition into the sideburns, finished with razor work for a clean edge. It is not a full trim and it is not a haircut. It is the service that keeps a beard looking intentional in the two to three weeks between full appointments, when the shape is still good but the edges have gone soft. The two lines that matter most are the ones people get wrong on themselves. The cheek line should follow your natural growth rather than being cut straight across, and the neckline belongs roughly a finger and a half above the Adam’s apple, not along the jaw.
The two lines everyone gets wrong at home
The neckline is the more damaging of the two. Cutting it along the jaw rather than on the neck removes the shadow under the chin that makes a beard look full, and it is very hard to fix because you have to grow it back before it can be reset.
The cheek line is the other one. A hard straight line high on the cheek reads artificial on most faces. Following the natural growth boundary and just cleaning above it looks better and grows out cleaner.
When a line up is enough and when it is not
If the beard is still the length and shape you want and only the edges have gone soft, a line up is the right call and the cheapest way to stay sharp.
If the length is uneven, the shape has drifted, or you are changing the style entirely, book the $50 Haircut & Beard so there is time to rebuild rather than just clean.
What to expect
- 1Quick look at the current growth and where the lines are sitting.
- 2Cheek line set to follow your natural growth boundary.
- 3Neckline reset at the correct height under the jaw.
- 4Mustache balanced and the sideburn transition cleaned.
- 5Razor detail work on all edges, then a hot towel finish.
Aftercare
- Brush the beard down daily so the shape holds between visits.
- Do not touch up the cheek line yourself. That is how it creeps upward over months.
- Roughly two weeks is the natural interval before the lines soften again.

Good for
- Staying sharp between full appointments
- A quick reset before an event or a photo
- Fixing a neckline that has been cut too high
- Anyone who does not need the hair on their head touched
Questions
Before you book.
What is the difference between a beard line up and a beard trim?+
A line up defines the edges and leaves the length alone. A trim reduces and evens the length. The $25 Beard Line Up is the edge work. If the length needs work too, book the $50 Haircut & Beard so there is time for both.
Can I get a line up without a haircut?+
Yes, that is exactly what this service is. It is booked on its own and does not touch the hair on your head.
Can you fix a neckline I cut too high?+
Partly, and then it is a growing-out problem. Adrian will shape around it so it looks deliberate while it fills back in, but hair that has been removed has to regrow. Expect a few weeks.
