The five components
- Precision haircut. The shape is set first, cut dry so weight and balance read accurately.
- Hot towel. Softens the beard and neck hair, opens the skin before any blade.
- Straight razor shave. Neckline, cheeks, and edges cut at the surface rather than below it.
- Skincare facial. Cleanses and calms the skin while it is still open from the towel.
- Neck and shoulder massage. Closes the appointment and takes the tension out.
Why the order is not arbitrary
Cutting first means the shape is judged on dry, normally behaving hair. Do the towel first and the hair is damp and lying flat, which is how cuts end up shorter than intended on top.
The facial has to come after the razor, not before. Shaving over freshly treated skin undoes the treatment and increases irritation. Done in the right order, the shave opens the skin and the facial closes it back down.
VIP versus booking à la carte
A haircut is $37 and a beard line up is $25, which is $62 before you have had any towel, razor, facial, or massage. At $70 the VIP adds all four of those for $8 over the two-service total.
The catch is time. It is 55 minutes rather than 30, and Saturdays fill first. Book it ahead rather than hoping for a same-day slot.
When not to book it
- You have under 40 minutes. Book the standard haircut.
- Your skin is currently irritated or broken out. Skip the razor and facial portions.
- You were in three weeks ago and only need the shape tidied. A haircut or line up covers it.
- You want it as a mobile appointment. The facial and towel need a sink, so ask first.
